How to maintain a Miter Saw

Tools such as Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 miter saws are a little bit different than most power tools when it comes to the routine maintenance. In most cases, the main reason for keeping power tools such as sanders, sanders or drills in good condition is so that they are ready to be used when you are about to start your work. While this might be one of the reasons to maintain your power saw, the main reason is safety as miters can be dangerous if they are used when not in a good condition.

Fortunately, Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 saws have an outstanding reputation for safety, reliability and they are also sold with the best warranties which you cannot find easily in the industry. These saws come with a one year free service contract, three years limited warranty and ninety days money back guarantee. The durability of these tools means that you will probably never need to take the advantage of this warranty program. However, in order to keep these saws in great condition, they should have regular maintenance.

The following tips will not only keep your saw safe but also in an excellent condition.

1. Check the safety features of these saws.

When you have stayed for a while without using your saw, it is always important to check the safety features before using it. These include safety interlock trigger systems and blade guards. Therefore, it is important to check out and ensure that their miter locks and bevel on the miter saws are working properly.

2. Clean your Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 saws thoroughly after use.

Clean saws are always reliable & safe to use. You can use a few blast of condensed air to get out sawdust in the crevices and cracks.

3. Check that all screws and bolts are tight.

Ensure that you always check all screws and bolts are tight before using the saw. You do not want anything moving while using the saw that is not supposed to. Sudden spinning blade, movements are not good when you are using the saw.

4. Lubricate your saw.

Use spray lubricants on all moving parts such as the mechanism and miter saw arm that lowers and raises Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 saw blades.

5. Always keep your saw in a dry place.

Keeping your saw in a wet place is not recommended since exposing it to moisture can make the motor to rust over time.

6. Check the power cord.

It is important to check your power cord regularly. Replace a cord with broken or frayed insulation before using your saw.

7. Use sharp blades.

Only use sharp blades & proper blade for the materials which you are cutting. Blunt blades can put stress on the saw's motor & they may cause the materials which you are cutting to kick-back while cutting.

8. If used outside, have a tarp close-by.

While Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 miter saws are portable, they cannot be moved easily as smaller power tools. Therefore, it is important to have a plastic tarp close by when you are working outside in case of sudden rain.

Always follow the above maintenance tips for your Hitachi C10FCE2 and Dewalt DW718 saws in order to keep your saw working properly & safely.
